A year ago today, I quit smoking. Hurrah!

In celebration of this, I have totted up how much I havn't spent on fags and the grand sum is circa £2,300.00. Over two grand. Based on a pack of 20 a day. Fuck.

I intend to treat myself to Sushi for lunch as a prize and maybe buy a book or three.

as the norm I don't do horror flicks or mass stabbity films as I sometimes have quite spectacular nightmares but it's a somewhat random affair - children of the corn which has been espoused as the epiphany of horror (at the time), left me sleeping the sleep of the innocent, Bram Stoker's 'Dracular' had me in cold sweats for some weeks as did Zatoichi...I suspect its the amount of blood and gore rather than the fear factor that gets me everytime.

so I have now watched *28 weeks later* at home alone

I have had no cheese

we shall see..............

well the small army was smaller than expected, one of the promised people went awol so I have dumped him in a huge pile of sh*t as he was neither with me nor where he was working before - obviously decided to take the afternoon off and the step ahead agency are struggling to find me anyone with basic pc skills.

So with that old addage in mind "if you want something done properly do it yourself", I turn to you dear reader for help.

Do you know of anyone who is available for work like RIGHT NOW, based in London willing to temp for circa three weeks *possibly longer* with plenty of overtime thrown in for good measure.

Key attributes include not having a student visa or other visa issues, good command of the english language, basic PC knowledge, willingness to slog their guts out for not a huge amount of money - it pays £6.25 an hour , a brain and a pulse - think I have it all covered :D anyone who is able I can pass our HR details onto - there is a small matter of an interview but if the bulgarians got past that stage then there's really nothing to worry about :P
I'm going to leave this post unlocked until friday in case you want to point people at this to comment at which point I can let anyone who comments know more about the job in hand.

Ideally I need between 5 and 10 people depending on how many the agency manage to find.

edited to add - the work is mainly filing and data entry

there is nothing quite as distressing as having carted a block of dairy milk chocolate half way across Africa (the local dairy milk stuff is normally made in the country of purchase and I was put off for life after eating Dairy Milk made from Hersheys which apologies to my american friends is NOT nice, specially if you are expecting an altogether different taste explosion), left it in fridges for that one moment, only to discover when the moment arrives that it has melted into a puddle at the bottom of the wrapper..

However hoorah for Toblerone - made in switzerland where ever in the world you purchase it....

Thank you all for your many kind posts about Jenny both on S's journal and mine - I've blubbed a fair bit when ever I look at that post, mainly because of the lyrics of the song and everyone being so sweet.

At the end of the day, she was a happy kitten, had a good life, much cuddles, as many mice as she could catch and eat, half the block wrapped round her paw.

I have some fantastic memories, some fantastic photos and she won't be forgotten.

*Normal* service to be resumed soonish

Jenny the cat

"Thank you for the days,
Those endless days, those sacred days you gave me.
I’m thinking of the days,
I won’t forget a single day, believe me.

I bless the light,
I bless the light that lights on you believe me.
And though you’re gone,
You’re with me every single day, believe me.

Days I’ll remember all my life"
